Men's 200 metre Backstroke Results
The Men’s 200 metre Backstroke final had a number of big-name contenders vying for the medals. Olympic champion from the Paris Olympics in 2024 in this event, Hubert Kos from Hungary set a European record to win gold in 1:53.19. Pieter Coetze from South Africa set an African record to win silver in 1:53.36, just 0.17 seconds behind Kos. Yohann Ndoye-Brouard won the bronze medal in 1:54.62. Kos was the favourite heading into this final having won the gold medal in Paris and has expanded his programme to include the 200 individual medley and was able to win the bronze medal to show his versatility which could be key going forwards towards the next Olympics.
