Australian Cameron McEvoy and Ben Proud from Great Britian continued their form from the Paris Olympics in 2024 winning gold and silver at these world championships just as they did in Paris. McEvoy touched first in 21.14 with Proud just touching just 0.12 seconds behind to win the silver medal. 6ft8” American Jack Alexy won the bronze medal in 21.46. All 3 of these guys will likely contest this 50-metre freestyle over the next few years in the build-up to the Los Angeles Olympics.
