The United States set a new World Record in the Women’s 4 X 100 metre Medley Relay winning the race by over 3 seconds from second placed Australia. The American team of Regan Smith, Kate Douglass, Gretchen Walsh and Tori Huske were the favourites heading into the final and showed why with a very impressive performance that makes them the team to beat. China won the bronze medal over 5 seconds behind the winners which just shows the margin of victory was huge for the Americans. They will be hoping to maintain this form going into the next home Olympics for them and winning on home soil would be huge for them.
